Living happily ever after…

Thirteen years ago tomorrow I married my soul mate, my best friend and the most amazing man I have ever met.

Yes I know, I am gushing – as I do about this time every year.  But it is true.

From the moment we met until I finally gave in to ‘going out’ with him I was afraid – of what?  Of true love and having met ‘the one’.  I was twenty one years old, at university, having fun and the last thing on my mind was settling down.   But in he walked, and out walked my days as a single lass.

Almost 7 years after we met we got married.  To the dismay of my family it would be another 5 years before the first baby came along.  In that time we worked, we travelled and just enjoyed each others company.  Life was perfect until one day we were questioning life as it was – there had to be more to it than working up the career ladder and enjoying the financial rewards of doing so.

There was.  In 2006 the first of our two most favourite people in the world arrived and with him, a brand new life.  All of a sudden we weren’t just two nor the most important people in the world to each other.  Two years later our second baby arrived and our family was complete.

Our boys are now 6 and 8.  They are at a lovely age and our relationship has gone from strength to strength.  And yes, like all couples we do argue but really, these tiffs are nothing in comparison to the love we have for each other.  A love that I believe is very much of the calibre that lasts a life time.  I could not imagine life without him.

Happy anniversary to the best husband and dad in the world with all our love – your family.
